Forrest Commons has become one of south side Indianapolis’ premiere neighborhoods. Previously known as Penn’s woods, named for Mattie Penn, a descendant of Quaker William Penn, the neighborhood is only two miles south of I465 between US 31 and Meridian Street, spanning Banta Road. Downtown Indianapolis is just 15 minutes north; Greenwood Park Mall is less than 10 minutes south; yet Carmel is only 30 minutes away. Forrest Commons' southern section was developed in 1985; the northern section began in 1990. All 99 custom homes are served by Indianapolis utilities and Perry Township Schools. Forrest Commons’ residents are close to everything urban, yet with a suburban atmosphere of trees, ponds and beautiful landscapes as shown in this amazing drone video from Larry Anderson, one of our neighbors. We hope you enjoy it and welcome you to become part of our beautiful neighborhood.
